The Bike House provides bicycle maintenance resources and education through our weekend clinics at Annie’s Ace Hardware in Petworth, the Bloomingdale Farmers Market, and the Anacostia Neighborhood Library.
At our clinics, you'll find dedicated volunteers and professional tools and resources to fix your own bike.
You'll leave with dirty hands, but hopefully a better understanding of bike maintenance and repairs.
INTRODUCTION TO BIKE MECHANICS CLASSES
The Bike House offers beginner mechanics classes for people who are interested in bikes but haven’t taken the plunge into working on them. Our four-week course uses a hands-on approach and is designed to get students comfortable working on their own bikes. Instructors cover basic bike maintenance, including flat tire repair, cleaning and lubing your chain, changing brake pads, adjusting derailleurs, and truing wheels.
